Engaging a Q.S. as a Design partner
Traditionally, Quantity Surveyors and Estimator are not considered part of the design process as are other professional services like Architects and Engineers.
My view from over 30 years experience as an Estimator is that a relatively small amount of money spent in looking at costs right from Concept design and planning can and often does, save exponentially more cost down the road during the latter stages of design, selecting contractors and builders and of course, during construction.
