Value Management

Working out the most affordable material and construction method for a building project.

Value Management Services by Measure Twice in Tauranga, New Zealand

What is Value Management?

If you are planning on building something in particular such as a foundation for a house, you want to work out the most valuable and affordable way of doing so. A value management will aid in the selection of material types or methods of building. This means that you will be able to make a well thought out decision.

A Quantity Surveyor plays a critical role in the Value Management process when analysing and identifying opportunities to improve the value of a project and reduce costs.

Benefits

Save time & money

Selecting the most suitable material & method will minimise unnecessary expenses.

Easier decision making

Making a decision backed by data and calculations will help you to make the right decision.

Stay within a budget

If you have a set budget you'll want to make sure that you choose the right route.

Who needs Value Management?

Both architects and home owners who are wanting to compare costs between alternative building materials or methods of construction will benefit from Value Management services.

What's included

You may already have completed a Cost Estimate for Construction before enquiring for Value Management. If this is the case your architect may have come up with a list of alternative selections for materials, or you may have created your own 'wish list' of options. A different way of building may be looked at as it suits the site conditions better. Value management will look at these alternative costs in comparison to the base costs and their impact on the budget while also informing decisions on design.

I will review your current options and put together cost comparisons for the relevant alternative design selections.

Step-by-step

How it works

You send me your drawings or outline specifications for alternative materials and/or building methodologies.

STEP 3

I review the options and put together a document covering the different costs & options involved.

STEP 4

You receive all you need in order to make an informed decision when choosing material & building method.

Testimonial

"Over the past 4 years our Capital Work’s Team in Central North has engaged with Kevin Mark’s as a consultant/Quantity Surveyor for our delivery of Capital Work Projects. I have found Kevin to be very Professional and easy to deal with during my time with the Ministry over the past 3 years. Whenever we engage with Kevin he is open and transparent with his communication in terms of the services he can provide and the timeframes that can deliver in, which is critical in our delivery lifecycle.

Kevin has continued his relationship with the Ministry of Education due to his ability to deliver on the accuracy required in procuring QS Services. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kevin/Measure Twice for QS consultancy requirements."
